Summary

1.1

The following decision is sought:

That approval be given to the project appraisal for a sixth form extension at Bay House Secondary School at an estimated cost of up to £556,000, excluding fees.

Reason

2.1

To consolidate specific sixth form amenities into a single block, thereby freeing up space within the existing buildings for an additional four classrooms to accommodate a forecast increase in roll numbers.

Other options considered and rejected

3.1

The need of the school for the facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost effective way of meeting that need.
