Summary

1.1

The following decision is sought:

That approval be given to the project appraisal for the construction of additional teaching accommodation at Amery Hill Secondary School at an estimated cost of £2.6m, excluding fees.

Reason

2.1

To upgrade existing facilities to provide additional teaching space to accommodate a rise in roll numbers and to facilitate the removal of four temporary classrooms currently on site.

Other options considered and rejected

3.1

The need of the school for the facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost effective way of meeting that need.
