Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

1. That the Director of Property, Business and Regulatory Services be authorised to award contracts for the supply of electricity to large sites in accordance with prescribed guidelines and where a rapid response to the tenders submitted is required.

2. That subject to the views of the Buildings, Land and Contracts Panel a decision be made on whether the contracts for the HQ buildings be concluded on the basis of the lowest cost or for the supply of green electricity at a premium.

Reason(s)

To ensure that quick decisions can be made in order to secure the appropriate tender prices and options and that environmental issues are given full consideration when awarding contracts.
