Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

That approval be given to:

1. The design project appraisal for a two class extension and four class extension respectively at Hatch Warren Infant and Junior Schools at an estimated cost of up to £1.86m, excluding fees to be funded initially from the School Balances Loan Scheme and to be repaid subsequently from anticipated capital receipts.

2. The contract being combined with Manor Fields Infant and Junior Schools and completed under a partnership arrangement linked to the Major Projects Framework Agreement.

Reason

2.1

To provide additional classroom accommodation to facilitate the removal of temporary classrooms from site.

Other options considered and rejected

3.1

The need of the school for the facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost effective way of meeting that need.
