SUMMARY

The following decision is sought:

That authority be given to the Director of Social Services to negotiate single tenders for the provision of support worker services in the Andover area.

REASONS

The proposal represents the most economically viable arrangement for the County Council and will provide continuity of service for vulnerable people and their carers.

Other options concerned and rejected:

Examined similar services in the area but no other provider with the capacity to deliver the required volume of service.
