        MATTERS FOR DECISION

5. HORNDEAN TECHNOLOGY COLLEGE - CLOSURE OF SIXTH FORM
(Pages 10 - 100 ).

The County Education Officer to be invited to present the Local Education Authority case. The Committee are also asked to consider the statement of case for the prescribed alteration to Horndean Technology College, so that the school ceases to provide sixth form education, with effect from 31 July 2005. The Committee are also asked to consider the letters of objection received to these proposals following publication of notices.

6. WICKHAM CHURCH OF ENGLAND PRIMARY SCHOOL - ENLARGEMENT (Pages 101 - 116 ).

The Committee are asked to consider the Statement of Case produced by the Local Education Authority and approve the Governing Body's proposals for a prescribed alteration to the school by enlarging the premises of the school, with effect from 1 September, 2004.

      NOTE: No objections were received in response to the Public Notices published on 11 June, 2003, however the Committee must still consider the proposals as the school is a voluntary school.

    MATTERS FOR INFORMATION

7. LOCAL EDUCATION AUTHORITY PROPOSALS (Pages 117 - 122 ).

      No objections were received in response to the Public Notices published in respect of the following proposals and accordingly the Local Education Authority has determined to implement the proposals as set out in the notices:

          · Knightwood Primary School - Enlargement

          · Brookfield School, Sarisbury green - Enlargement

          · Osborne School, Winchester - Closure of class accommodation at Toynbee School

          · Manor Field Infant School - Enlargement

          · Manor Field Junior School - Enlargement

      RECOMMENDATION

      That the Committee note the action taken by the Local Education Authority in respect of the above mentioned proposals.
