REPORT OF THE

SOCIAL CARE POLICY REVIEW COMMITTEE

1 The Social Care Policy Review Committee has adopted a positive approach to its three main areas of work: policy development, scrutiny and best value.

2 The Committee has advised the Executive Member on key areas of policy development:

    (i) Performance Assessment Framework (the Executive Member
    accepted the report)

    (ii) Commissioning Plan - Physical Disability and Sensory Services 2003/04 (to be considered by the Executive Member on
    19 September 2003)

3 The Committee advised the Executive Member for Social Care to implement the outcomes of the Best Value reviews of:

    (i) Carers' Services and Respite Care

    (ii) Sensory Services

    The Executive Member agreed the implementation of both.

4 The Committee also reviewed the progress of the Best Value reviews carried out in years 1 and 2:
