JOINT COMMITTEES

1. The Government has recently introduced directions requiring Joint Committees to be established to consider and respond to formal consultation on services provided across local authority boundaries. 2. A Joint Committee has now been established covering Hampshire, Portsmouth, Southampton and The Isle of Wight, the inaugural meeting having been held on 28 July, 2003.

3. The Health Review Committee's representatives on the Joint Committee are Councillors Dr. R.J. Ellis; D.F. Wright and Councillor B. Bayford (District Council Co-opted Member).
