The report highlighted results received in response to questionnaires sent to teachers concerning their attitudes towards the current syllabus in place together with their ideas for new developments. The Conference were encouraged at such a high level of return (approximately 40% of schools) and were pleased by the positive feedback along with ways of trying to improve any future syllabus.

19. PROPOSAL FOR A JOINT MEETING FOR HAMPSHIRE, PORTSMOUTH AND SOUTHAMPTON AGREED SYLLABUS CONFERENCES
The Conference received a report of the County Education Officer (Item 6 in the Minute Book) concerning the possibility of holding a joint meeting between the three authorities.
The Conference felt this would be an excellent opportunity for all three authorities to consider the final draft of the syllabus prior to formal adoption and it was therefore agreed to hold an afternoon meeting on either 29, 30, 31 March or 1 April 2004. These dates can then be submitted to both Southampton and Portsmouth to ensure their attendance before the agreed date can be notified to all parties.
RESOLVED:
(i) That the Agreed Syllabus approves the requirement for a joint meeting with the three local authorities.
(ii) That the County Education Officer be asked to write to all parties in due course confirming the date, time and venue.
