Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

That approval be given:

1. To further action being taken to investigate the reasons for the absence of competition for the contract to supply of gas to thirteen local authorities.

2. To a strategy aimed at putting pressure on the company referred to in the report to reduce prices coupled with the re-tendering (or re-negotiation) of the contract in 2004, and to continue the close monitoring of market data.

3. To the forthcoming contracts identified in Paragraph 6.1.
