Summary

1.1

The following decision is sought:

That the Executive Member for Education approves the project appraisal for a new multi-purpose hall, at an estimated cost of up to £411,000, excluding fees.

Reason

2.1

To provide a new multi-purpose hall to be used as a dance/music area, assembly area, dining area and for gym activities. The existing school hall area will be refurbished to provide an IT area.

Other options considered and rejected

3.1

The need of the school and local community for the facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost effective way of meeting that need.
