1.1 The following decision(s) are sought:

That the grant allocations as set out below totalling £34,853 be approved.

It was agreed that the following grant applications be deferred for Chairman's action on the receipt of further information.

Y270 King Alfred Youth Activity Deferred to the March

Centre Panel meeting.

Y271 Tadley United Reformed £4,000

Church Youth Project

Y277 South East Hampshire YMCA £3,000 Approved with a

request for a report back to
the March Panel meeting.

Y276 Youth Clubs and Hampshire Refused. Until additional

Isle of Wight funding is received from
other sources this request
does not meet criteria.

Y281 The Mental Health Group - £3,600

Youth in Romsey

Y284 Community First - New Forest Deferred to the March

Panel meeting.

2. Reasons

2.1 The Youth Panel at its meeting on 11 November 2003 advised the Executive Member for Education to approve grant allocations totalling £34,853.

3. Other Options Considered and Rejected: Not to make these grants. However, it is considered that making these grants constitutes an effective use of resources considering the benefits that they will bring.
