Summary

1.1

The following decision is sought:

That the Executive Member for Policy and Resources approves the design project appraisal for the construction of a new IT classroom block and Sports Hall at Eggars School, Alton, at an estimated cost of up to £1,846,000, excluding fees.

Reason

2.1

To provide an IT classroom and Sports Hall for the school, plus internal alterations to convert the existing IT classroom into a new science laboratory.

Other options considered and rejected

3.1

The need of the school and local community for the facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost effective way of meeting that need.
