Appointments to The Keyhaven River Users' Advisory Panel and
Fareham and Gosport Health Services Planning Group

Report of the Chief Executive

Contact: Kelvin Ridout - Ext: 7356

1. Summary

1.1 The following decisions are sought.

(i) That Councillor A. W. Rice be appointed as the County Council's
representative on the Keyhaven River Users' Advisory Panel;

    (ii) That Councillor Mrs. M. D. Snaith be appointed as the County

Council's representative on The Fareham and Gosport Health
Services Planning Group.

2. Reason

2.1 The Keyhaven River Users' Advisory Group has recently been constituted by
New Forest District Council and is designed to allow users and other
interested parties to consult with the District Council on matters concerning
the management of Keyhaven River. Representation is drawn from the District
Council; the Milford-on-Sea Parish Council; mooring users; commercial
interests such as fishermen and leisure operators; and the local yacht clubs.

2.2 The District Council is seeking a representative from the County Council and Councillor A. W. Rice's name has been put forward in view of his invaluable knowledge of the River and its history as well as being the local County Councillor. He has attended one meeting, in an `observer' capacity. The Users' Advisory Panel meets on a quarterly basis. It is for the Leader of the Council to make this appointment.

2.3 The Fareham and Gosport Health Services Planning Group has recently been established to share findings and begin the process of developing the strategic plan for Health Services in the Gosport peninsula. All partner organisations in the Fareham and Gosport area have been invited to participate and Councillor Mrs. Snaith has indicated her willingness to represent the County Council on the Group.
