1. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
All members who believe that they have a personal or personal prejudicial interest in any matter to be considered at the meeting must declare their personal interest and having regard to the circumstances described in paragraphs 9,10,11 and 12 of the County Council's Code of Conduct, consider whether to leave the meeting whilst the matter is being discussed. To consider a report of the County Education Officer advising how the Local Education Authority has directed funds to schools where pupils currently achieve below the national standard and how it is monitoring the targeting of this grant at school level.
6. SUPPORTING DEPARTMENT DEVELOPMENT IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS : EVALUATION OF WORK UNDERTAKEN IN 2001/2002

To consider a report of the County Education Officer detailing the outcomes from the fourth year of support for departments in secondary schools carried out by subject inspector/advisers, as part of the Education Development Plan (EDP).
7. OFFICE FOR STANDARDS IN EDUCATION (OFSTED) JUDGEMENTS ON GOVERNANCE IN HAMPSHIRE (Report herewith)
To consider a report of the County Education Officer summarising the Office for Standards in Education (OFSTED) judgements on governing bodies in Hampshire inspected between January 2000 and July 2002. The report also provides comparisons with statistical neighbours and the national picture in primary and secondary schools.
8. PUPIL ATTITUDE SURVEY 2003 (Report herewith)
To consider a report of the County Education Officer setting out the results of the pupil attitude survey carried out with over 26,000 pupils in primary and secondary schools. The reports also compares the responses with those obtained in the survey of pupil attitudes carried out in the previous three years.

RECOMMENDATION
That, by virtue of paragraphs 1, 7, 11 and 13 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following items.
