AT A MEETING of an APPOINTMENT PANEL OF THE COUNTY COUNCIL held at The Castle, Winchester on Wednesday 4 February 2004.

PRESENT:

Councillors: A.P. Collett; B.D. Dash; K.B. Estlin; J.K. Glen; P.R.C. Hutcheson; M.J. Roberts; T.K. Thornber, C.B.E.

1. APPOINTMENT OF CHAIRMAN

RESOLVED:

That Councillor T.K. Thornber be appointed Chairman of the meeting.

2. EXCLUSION OF THE PRESS AND PUBLIC

That, by virtue of Paragraph 1 of Part I of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the remainder of the meeting.

3. APPOINTMENT OF DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF ENVIRONMENT (STRATEGY)

Pursuant to Standing Order 41, the Panel considered applications for the post of Deputy Director of Environment (Strategy). Mr Duncan Jordan, Mr Stuart Jarvis and Mr Matthew Lugg were interviewed for the post.

RESOLVED:

That the Cabinet be advised of the Panel's recommendation to make the following offer:-

Deputy Director of Environment (Strategy) - Mr Stuart Jarvis.
