AT A MEETING of the AGREED SYLLABUS CONFERENCE held at The Castle, Winchester on 10 February 2004.

PRESENT:

21. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

Members were mindful that, where they believed they had a personal or personal prejudicial interest in any matter to be considered at the meeting, they should, normally at the time of the debate, declare their interest and, having regard to the circumstances described in paragraphs 9, 10, 11 and 12 of the County Council's Code of Conduct, consider whether to leave the meeting whilst the matter was discussed. No Members of the Agreed Syllabus Conference declared any such interest.

22. MINUTES

The Minutes of the meeting held on 7 October 2003 were confirmed as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.

23. CHAIRMAN'S COMMUNICATIONS

The Chairman had nothing to report on this occasion.

24. DEPUTATIONS

There were no deputations.

25. REVISION OF THE AGREED SYLLABUS: UPDATE

The Conference considered a report of the County Education Officer (Item 5 in the Minute Book) updating the Conference on progress of the revision of the Agreed Syllabus.

The Conference noted that the final working party took place on 22 January 2004 for the review of the Agreed Syllabus; the RE team will continue to work on the documentation to ensure that the working parties agreed suggestions are implemented.


    RESOLVED:

    (i) That the report be noted.

    (ii) That the RE team of inspectors continue with the process of revising the Agreed Syllabus.

26. AGREED DATE FOR A JOINT MEETING FOR HAMPSHIRE, PORTSMOUTH AND SOUTHAMPTON AGREED SYLLABUS CONFERENCE

The Conference considered a report of the County Education Officer (Item 6 in the Minute Book) confirming the arrangements in place for a joint Agreed Syllabus Conference Meeting.

    Following consultation with the three authorities, it was agreed the joint meeting would take place on Monday, 29 March 2004 commencing at 1pm at Hampshire County Council Offices, The Castle, Winchester.

    RESOLVED:

      (i) That the Conference be asked to note the date of the joint meeting.
