Summary

1.1

The following decision is sought:

That the Executive Member for Policy and Resources approves the project appraisal for the construction of a multi-use hall at Swanmore College of Technology at an estimated cost of up to £598,000, excluding fees.

Reason

2.1

To provide a multi-use hall for use by Swanmore College of Technology and the local community.

2.2

This decision supports Aims 1 and 5 of the Corporate Strategy by providing enhanced sporting facilities for use by both the College and the local community.

Other options considered and rejected

3.1

The need of the school for the facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost effective way of meeting that need.
