Contact : Jill Lovelock, Corporate Policy Manager, Ext 7591
1. Summary
1.1 The following decision is sought:
The Executive Member for Policy and Resources is asked to allocate £55,000 as a contribution of £5000 to each of the 11 local community safety partnerships for crime audits to be undertaken in 2004, provided that other statutory partners also contribute to the overall costs, funding to come from the grants to voluntary organisations budget.
2. Reason
2.1 The County Council is a statutory partner in each local community safety partnership and as such has a responsibility to the partnership. Audits take place every 3 years, so this is not an annual expense and needs to be met by the partners.
2.2 Community safety is a key activity supporting aim 4 of the corporate strategy, building strong and safe communities.
