Hampshire County Council Item 8 Executive Member - Policy and Resources 19 February 04 Community Strategy Budget: Bids for Funding Report of the Chief Executive |
Contact: Frances Martin, Community Strategy Manager ext 5122
1. Summary
1.1 The following decision is sought:
To approve an allocation of £7,000 for the Hampshire Strategic Partnership.
2. Reason:
2.1 This decision supports Aim 4 of the Corporate Strategy (Building Strong and Safe Communities) by working together with local people to build strong and safe communities for everyone. In addition this decision supports the themes of the Community Strategy for Hampshire.
2.2 This will be used as a contribution to support a community project in Leigh Park, Havant. The initiative was launched by SEEDA in August 2002 and involves Hampshire County Council, Portsmouth City Council and Havant Borough Council as the partners on the project. In August 2003 the partners decided to develop the work further by focusing on the preparation of detailed development briefs for three discrete neighbourhoods within the estate. Supporting this project contributes to the proposed actions in the draft Community Strategy for Hampshire in that the project targets areas of deprivation in Hampshire.

4. Conflicts of Interest declared by the decision maker or a member or
