Community Strategy Budget: Bids for Funding

Report of the Chief Executive

1. Summary

1.1. The following decisions are sought:

(i) To approve the allocation of £5,000 for the Test Valley Strategic Partnership.

(ii) To approve the allocation of £2,000 for the Rushmoor Strategic Partnership.

(iii) That the recommendation to the Leader for approval of an allocation of £50,000 for the Eastleigh Strategic Partnership be deferred to enable other funding sources to be investigated.

(iv) To request that the Leader agree the carry forward of any unspent budget at the end of 2003/04 into 2004/05.

2. Reasons:

2.1 These decisions support Aim 4 of the Corporate Strategy (Building Strong and Safe Communities) by working together with local people to build strong and safe communities for everyone. In addition these decisions support the themes of the Community Strategy for Hampshire.

2.2 This allocation (i) will be used to appoint a Partnership Support Officer to co-ordinate the planning, projects and monitoring of the LSP.

2.3 This allocation (ii) will be as a contribution towards the costs of a training and development programme for the Rushmoor Strategic Partnership.

2.4 This allocation (iii) will be used as a contribution to complete the £250,000 funding package to replace the existing youth centre at Hamble Community Sports College.
