1. Summary

1.1 This report provides details of the annual revenue grants to voluntary youth organisations. The report includes recommendations to the Executive Member for Education totalling £129,250 to organisations who have made applications to this budget. These recommendations have been based on the revised grants policy and criteria, which were approved at the July 1999 meeting of the Youth Service Sub-Committee.

1.2 Supporting the voluntary sector youth organisation through Annual Revenue Grants supports Corporate Strategy aim 1, Maximising life opportunities and Corporate Strategy aim 4, Building strong and safe communities, as well as contributing to the Cabinet priority for Youth.

1 Budget 2004/2005

1.1 The grants budget available to support voluntary organisation in 2004/05 is £195,600. At the December 1998 Youth Service Sub-Committee it was agreed to allocate the grants budget on a formula basis to reflect county and district needs and priorities resulting in the following amounts being available for allocation:

1.3 It should be noted that some organisations hold significant balances or reserves in their financial accounts, these are held in accordance with the Charity Commission's guidelines where appropriate.

2 Recommendations

That it be a RECOMMENDATION to the Executive Member for Education:

1 That the grant allocations as set out in the appendix and summarised below, totalling £129,250 be approved;

2 That the balance of £66,350 be added to the Project Development Grants for further allocation by the Panel;
