1. Summary
The following decision is sought:-
1.1 That Councillor D G Allen and Councillor Felicity Hindson be re-appointed as the County Council's nominated Trustees to the Eggar's Grammar School Site Foundation (the "Trust") for the period of four years from the date of expiry of their current term of office in April 2004.
2. Reasons
The object of the Trust is the provision of items, services and facilities for Eggar's School and Amery Hill School, Alton, which would not normally be provided by the County Council as Local Education Authority. The Trust may also give financial assistance to students of the schools in certain circumstances. The work of the Trust complements that of the County Council in furthering Aim 1 of the Corporate Strategy, `Maximising Life Opportunities'.
3. Other Options Considered and Rejected
None, as the terms of the Trust's governing document require the County Council to appoint two nominated Trustees.
4. Conflicts of Interest Declared by the Decision Maker or a Member or Officer consulted
Councillor D G Allen has declared a personal, but not prejudicial, interest as an existing nominated trustee appointed by the County Council, to the Trust as its representative.
5. Dispensation Granted by the Standards Committee
Not applicable
6. Reasons for matter being dealt with if urgent
