Summary

1.1

The following decision is sought:

That the Executive Member for Policy and Resources approves the project appraisal for the proposed new residential accommodation block at Calshot Activities Centre at an estimated cost of £1,043,000, excluding fees.

Reason

2.1

In order that a new accommodation block for the Activities Centre can be operational by Spring 2005.

2.2

This decision supports Aims 1 and 5 of the Corporate Strategy by improving public services.

Other options considered and rejected

3.1

The need for the facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost effective way of meeting that need.
