1. Summary

1.1 The following decision is sought:

1. That authority be given to the Director of Social Services to negotiate a single tender for the provision of day services for Older People in the New Forest.

2. Reason

This decision supports Aim 1 of the Corporate Strategy `Maximising Life Opportunities'. The focus on quality and cost contributes to Aim 5 `Improving Services' and the partnership approach with local care providers assists with Aim 3 `Achieving Economic Prosperity'.

3. Other Options considered and rejected:

Competitive tendering considered but discounted because of review of existing model of day care arrangements for older people in the New Forest, allied to future developments regarding premises for the provision of the service.
