Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

That the Executive Member for Education approves the project appraisal at Cherbourg Primary School at an estimated cost of £310,000, excluding fees.

Reason(s)

2.1

To provide a new staff room and classroom, thus allowing provision of an Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties Unit within the existing school.

2.2

This decision supports Aim 1 and 5 of the Corporate Strategy by providing improved facilities which will benefit all users of the school.

Other options considered and rejected

3.1

The need of the school for the facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost-effective way of meeting that need.
