1 Summary

1.1 Decisions are sought that approval be given to the Annual Revenue Grant £8,700 for Bishops Green Youth Project, Basingstoke District.

2 Reason

2.1 To obtain approval of the grant, in light of the following information;

A visit by the Senior Youth Worker for Basingstoke to Bishop's Green Youth Project took place during which the youth activities were observed. This visit together with an check on the register paperwork confirmed that the level of attendance supplied in the original application was seen as a true reflection. See appendix 1

3 Other options considered and rejected - not applicable.

4 Conflicts of interest declared by the decision maker or a member or officer consulted - none.

5 Dispensation granted by the Standards Committee - not applicable.

6 Reasons for the matter being dealt with if urgent

This application was put before the Youth Panel on 18^th March 2004. Questions were raised concerning the number of young people attending the project. In respect of ARG129 Bishops Green Youth Project, the sum of £8,700 be agreed, subject to the Executive Member for Education being satisfied with further information being submitted to his Decision Day on 25 March 2004. It was not possible to compile the information in readiness for that date and as a result is brought to the Decision Day on May 13^th 2004.
