Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

That the Executive Member for Education advises the Executive Member for Policy and Resources that the project appraisal at Chiltern Primary School at an estimated cost of up to £1.7m, excluding fees, be approved.

Reason(s)

2.1

To adapt and extend the Junior School to form a 1.5FE primary school, together with a nursery unit.

2.2

This decision supports Aims 1 and 5 of the Corporate Strategy by providing improved facilities which will benefit both the school and the community.

Other options considered and rejected

3.1

The need of the school for the facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost-effective way of meeting that need.
