SOUTH CENTRAL CONNEXIONS PARTNERSHIP LIMITED - EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING

1. Summary

1.1 The following decision is sought:

1.2 That authority be delegated to Andrew Seber, County Education Officer, or his
nominated deputy, to attend shareholders meetings of South Central Connexions

Partnership Limited and to vote on behalf of the County Council at those meetings.

2. Reason

2.1 The object of the South Central Connexions Partnership is to provide the Connexions
service to young people in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, funding being made
available to the South Central Connexions Partnership Limited from the Department for
Education and Skills. The County Council is committed to ensuring that the interests of
young people are served by the Connexions Service and the work of the South Central
Connexions Partnership Limited complements that of the County Council in furthering
Aim 1 of the Corporate Strategy, `maximising life opportunities'.

None

4. Conflicts of interest declared by the decision maker or a member or officer
consulted

4.1 Andrew Seber the County Education Officer is a Director of South Central Connexions
Partnership Limited and VT Southern Careers Limited (a provider to South Central
Connexions Partnership Limited) by virtue of his post as County Education Officer.

5. Dispensation granted by the Standards Committee

5.1 Not applicable.

6. Reasons for the matter being dealt with if urgent

6.1 An Extraordinary General Meeting has been called of the South Central Connexions
Partnership Limited for Friday 21 May.
