1. Summary

1.1 This report seeks approval for the Director of Social Services to negotiate a single tender with Foster Care Associates for independent fostering services. Previous approval for single tender arrangements for this contract was given on 15 November 2002.

2.1 To assist in achieving the corporate aims of the County Council by maximising life opportunities, through the provision of additional family based care provision for children looked after. This supports aims 1, 4 and 5 of the Corporate Strategy.
