Summary

1.1

The following decision is sought:

That approval be given to re-purchase land acquired from the County Council for a Motorway Service Area which is not proceeding on terms to be agreed by the Director of Property, Business and Regulatory Services (Head of Estates Practice).

Reason

2.1

By repurchasing both parcels of land, Hampshire County Council has the opportunity to fully explore the potential of both sites in terms of conservation, protection of the environment and use to the Council.

2.2

This decision supports the following Aim of the Corporate Strategy

Aim 2 - Stewardship of the environment by ensuring proper and sympathetic management of the broadleaf woodland and the downland.
