Summary

1.1

The following decision is sought:

That the Executive Member for Education advises the Executive Member for Policy and Resources that the project appraisal for the construction of a new entrance foyer and internal refurbishment works at Neville Lovett Community School at an estimated cost of up to £686,000, excluding fees, be approved.

Reason(s)

2.1

To provide an improved entrance and foyer facility and refurbished Food Technology area and Hearing Impaired Unit.

2.2

This decision supports Aims 1 and 5 of the Corporate Strategy by providing improved facilities which will benefit both the school and the community.

3.1

The need for the facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost-effective way of meeting that need.
