1. Summary

1.1. At the Annual Meeting of the County Council in 2001, it was agreed to appoint four members to the Local Government Association General Assembly, namely Councillors T K Thornber, CBE, D G Allen, Felicity Hindson, MBE and K B Estlin, with Councillor M J Woodhall being the nominated deputy.

1.2. Councillors Estlin and Allen are unable to attend the Local Government Association's Annual Conference and Exhibition in Bournemouth between 6 and 9 July 2004 and it is recommended that Councillor J K Glen replace Councillor Estlin on this Conference. Councillor Woodhall, as the nominated deputy will replace Councillor Allen.

1.3. This decision would support Aim 6 of the Corporate Strategy by developing Councillors.

1.4. The following decision is sought:

1.5. That the attendance of Councillor Glen in place of Councillor Estlin at the Local Government Association's Annual Conference and Exhibition in Bournemouth between 6 and 9 July 2004 be approved and that the attendance of Councillor Woodhall in place of Councillor Allen be noted.

2. Reason(s):

In order that the County Council may be fully represented at the Conference.

Not to appoint a deputy for Councillor Estlin.
