Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

That the Executive Member for Education advises the Executive Member for Policy and Resources that the project appraisal at Minstead Study Centre at an estimated cost of £888,000, excluding fees, be approved.

Reason(s)

2.1

To provide residential accommodation and improvements to the site that will provide residential and educational facilities and community accommodation that meets current standards and regulations.

Other options considered and rejected

3.1

The need of the school for the facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost-effective way of meeting that need.

3.2

This decision supports Aims 1 and 5 of the Corporate Strategy by providing improved facilities which will benefit both the school and the community.
