Summary

1.1

The following decision is sought:

That the Executive Member for Education advises the Executive Member for Policy and Resources that the project appraisal for the construction of an Early Years Centre at Nightingale Primary School at an estimated cost of up to £522,000, excluding fees, be approved.

Reason(s)

2.1

To provide an Early Years Centre within a residential area of Eastleigh and improved accommodation within the Primary School.

2.2

This decision supports Aims 1 and 5 of the Corporate Strategy by providing improved facilities which will benefit both the school and the community.

3.1

The need for the facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost-effective way of meeting that need.
