144 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

Members were mindful that, where they believed they had a personal or personal prejudicial interest in any matter to be considered at the meeting, they should normally at the time of the debate declare their interest, and having regards to the circumstances described in paragraphs 9, 10, 11 and 12 of the County Council's Code of Conduct, consider whether to leave the meeting whilst the matter was discussed.

145 PROJECT APPRAISAL: CHAWTON PARK WOOD AND FARM - NATIONAL CYCLING NETWORK PROPOSALS

Prior to the meeting the Committee had undertaken a site visit and viewed the preferred and alternative options from four points, namely, a point along the preferred route at the boundary of Mr Robertson's land, the western end of the alternative route, Brick Kiln Farm and Chawton Park Farm.

At the actual meeting Mrs Mason of the Hampshire Cyclists Forum made a deputation. The Committee then considered the report of the Director of Environment and Director of Recreation and Heritage (Item 2 in the Minute Book) on the matter. During a discussion Members felt that the site visit had been useful and support was expressed for both the preferred route and the alternative route.

RESOLVED:

That the proposals for the National Cycle Network through Chawton Park Wood and Chawton Park Farm be supported and the project appraisal be submitted to the Executive Member for Recreation and Heritage for his consideration.
