1 Summary

1.1 The following decisions are sought:

1. That the views expressed by the Policy Review Committee be forwarded to the governing body of Applemore Technology College and Winchester Diocese as the local education authority's response to their consultation.

2. That copies of this response be sent to schools, and other interested parties, in the area, and that further consideration be given to this matter in the autumn, in the light of any comments received.

2 Reason

As set out in the report considered by the Education Policy Review Committee on 13 July 2004.

The issues considered in this report are pertinent to Corporate Aims 1 (Maximising life opportunities) and 4 (Building strong and safe communities) as the LEA seeks to ensure the availability of high quality learning opportunities, reduce the impact of discrimination and work in partnership with local communities. The report should also be considered in the light of the County Council's equalities policies.
