To consider the report of the Chief Executive on proposals from the NHS to vary or develop health services in the area of the Committee.

8. SCRUTINY OF PROPOSALS TO CLOSE THE MOUNT HOSPITAL

    To consider the report of the Chief Executive setting out the framework and the key points to be considered when scrutinising the proposal from Winchester and Eastleigh Healthcare NHS Trust to close the in-patient beds at The Mount Hospital with effect from the end of August 2004, to take evidence from all interested parties and to consider what action needs to be taken if the Committee does not support the proposals of the Trust.

County Councillors attending as appointed Members of this Committee or by virtue of Standing Order 17.5; or with the concurrence of the Chairman in connection with their duties as members of the Council or as a local County Councillor qualify for travelling expenses.
