1 Summary
Further to Executive Member - Social Care decision on 21 May 2004 at which the granting of funds was made under the provisions of Section 2 of the Local Government Act 2000, to enable a quick conclusion it is now appropriate that the granting of funds is made under the provisions of Section 28(a)(9)9b) of the National Health Service Act 1977.
1.1 The following decision is sought:
That approval be given for the granting of funds under the provisions of Section 28(a)(9)(b) of the National Health Service Act 1977 to enable transfers for locally based hospital reprovision to proceed.
2 Reason(s)
2.1 To enable the transfer of funds to proceed in accordance with the commercial requirements of the reprovision. The reprovision of these services will result in a better quality of life for the people involved and will support AIM 1: Maximising Life Opportunities and AIM 5: Improving Services of the Corporate Strategy.
3 Other options considered and rejected
3.1 The Business Case for the reprovision, prepared by Surrey Hampshire Borders NHS Trust considered an number of options to improve the living environment for the residents. Reprovision was the only viable option to deliver the environmental improvements and the life opportunities that are sought for these people.
