2.1 |
Although the suite of BVPI's is due to be amended from next year (2005/06) and the (selected) information contained in this report is somewhat dated (i.e. it is for 2002/03); it can nevertheless provide a useful insight into how the Authority is performing relative to similar fire and rescue authorities (notably Essex and Kent which have similar risk profiles). These occasional comparative reports are therefore considered to be a useful addition to the performance and risk management information available to the Authority - especially as the data may reveal areas where the Authority is potentially exposed to criticism from stakeholders when comparisons are made. The voluntary sharing of performance information within the Family Group is a useful way of identifying common and specific performance and risk issues; but, and most importantly, the information can point to the possibility of learning about 'good practice' being undertaken elsewhere to achieve Government and local performance targets and to drive down risk. |
