IMPROVEMENTS TO INTERCHANGE FACILITIES AT RAIL STATIONS

In furtherance of the County Council's policies on promoting modal shift, addressing social exclusion and enhancing the local environment, a decision was taken on 13 July 2004 approving the 2004/05 programme for the County Council's contribution to an agreed programme to carry out rail interchange improvements throughout Hampshire. This decision was taken as part of a joint-funded scheme with South West Trains.

The County Council has allocated funding of £200,000 within the Capital Programme for 2004/05 - £97,000 of this total sum is match-funded with a further £68,000 made up of joint-funded works where South West Trains substantially carries the major part of the costs. The remaining £35,000 is for related ancillary works which are funded entirely by the County Council. The total cost of the programme is £629,000 of which £429,000 is funded by other parties. The table below sets out the programme of works:-
