1 Summary

The following decision is sought:

1.1 That approval be given for the use of core values to assist the development of a Clinical Governance Strategy to support clinical staff employed by Hampshire County Council under section 31 of the Health Act 1999.

1.2 That Hampshire County Council clinical staff will use Clinical Governance to continue to improve the quality of services provided for older people in the councils' existing residential and new nursing homes.

2.1 This decision supports Aim 5 of the Corporate Strategy Improving Services by aiming to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction across all services and Aim 6 of the Corporate Strategy Developing Councillors and staff by using Clinical Governance to ensure the continuous professional development of clinical staff.
