Hayling Billy Trail (Havant Railway Station)

The proposed scheme to continue the trail from the centre of Southwest Trains' car park to the station forecourt, including cycle storage and motor cycle storage, is awaiting legal approval from HCC. The works are planned for 2004/05.

Hayling Billy Train (Langstone)

The risk assessments have been out to public consultation. HCC still to complete a project appraisal. Due to the design issues and agreements still required, funding for this section of the trail is likely to be deferred until 2006/07. Copies of the risk assessment are available for viewing at Havant's offices.

Southleigh Road

The hedgerow removal consent has now been obtained and some works to the kerbs have already been carried out. The scheme has been extended to the junction with Emsworth Road in order to meet the requirements for a bid to Sustrans, which was successful in securing a £40k contribution. The section from Rowan Road to Emsworth Road will be on-carriageway. A safety audit of the on-carriageway section is still required. Works to the off-carriageway section are planned to start in November 2004, with proposed completion of the whole section by March 2005.
