Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

1. That approval is given to the design project appraisal at East Hants Special School, Bordon at an estimated cost of £6.184m, excluding fees.

2. That the contribution from Policy and Resources capital repairs budget be determined once the capital receipt from Whitedown School is known.

Reason(s)

2.1

To provide a purpose designed facility to replace inadequate accommodation and provide an opportunity to improve the educational environment for children with special educational needs in East Hampshire.

2.2

This decision supports Aim 1 and 5 of the Corporate Strategy by providing improved facilities which will benefit all users of the school.

3.1

The need for the school facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost-effective way of meeting that need.
