Corporate Procurement - Progress Report

Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

That approval be given to:

1. the work to establish an overview of procurement within the County Council and to implement a corporate improvement plan;

2. the wide range of procurement savings that have been and will continue to be made, being closely linked to the County Council's budget strategy;

3. Councillor C Davidovitz being nominated to participate in the proposed review of corporate procurement performance and organisation.

Reason(s)

2.1

To enable the national and corporate requirements associated with the strategic management of procurement to be met.

2.2

This decision supports Aims 3, 5 and 6 of the Corporate Strategy by promoting a strategic approach to procurement, through improved resource management; and developing procurement skills, particularly for staff.
