The following decision is sought: |

|
|
That rents charged in respect of County Council dwellings let to staff and other tenants be increased by 2% with effect from 1 April 2005. |
|
|

Reason |
|
|
2.1 |
It is County Council policy to review the level of rents charged to its residential tenants on 1 April each year, and it is proposed to do so in 2005. The proposed increase of 2% takes account of research undertaken into the general rise in rents in both the public and private sectors over the last twelve months. |

2.2 |
This decision supports the following Aim of the Corporate Strategy |
|
|
|
Aim 5 - Improving services by ensuring rental levels of the County Council's stock of housing accommodation are reviewed in line with adopted policy to generate an appropriate level of income for use in the management of the properties, many of which are secure or service tenancies. |
