Summary |
1.1 |
The following decision is sought: |
That approval be given to write-off the outstanding debt from rental income due to the bankruptcy of a previous County Farm tenant. |
2 |
Reason |
2.1 |
The previous tenant was declared bankrupt in November 2002 and it is of the opinion of the County Treasurer's Department that we are unlikely to receive any payment towards this debt and therefore it should now be written-off. |
2.2 |
This decision supports the following Aims of the Corporate Strategy |
Aim 1 - Maximising life opportunities - the re-letting of Yew Tree Farm has enabled the incoming tenants to revitalise the operation of this County Farm holding and to operate their own farm business. In addition, it has yielded a full market rent for the holding. |

3.1 |
A County Court Action was brought by the County Council against the Tenant, however, the Tenant claimed bankruptcy. |
