Re-naming the Personnel Committee

Background

1.1

The Chairman of the Committee has suggested that the Personnel Committee be re-named the Human Resources Committee to more accurately reflect the wide ranging activities of the Human Resources Section that reports into the Committee.

Members views are requested.

European Convention on Human Rights and the Human Rights Act 1998

The proposals within this report are considered compatible with the provisions of the European Convention on Human Rights, the Human Rights Act 1998, and the Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000.

Recommendations

That it be a RECOMMENDATION to the Fire Authority that the Personnel Committee be re-named the Human Resources Committee, with effect from 8 December, 2004.
