The review of Workshops has progressed since the last Performance Review Committee meeting with the Working Group visiting Royal Berkshire, South Wales and Essex Fire and Rescue Services to compare their workshop facilities with HFRS. | |
1.2 |
As the report on the review was being compiled, it was noted that there were some areas requiring further investigation and evidence. Where other Fire and Rescue Services with `in-house' Workshops had identified potential areas for improvement, the Working Group has been tasked to ascertain the benefits of introducing these changes within HFRS. Analysis of internal and external costs are also being investigated to establish the viability of remaining `in-house' for some or all of our work. | |

A decision was made by the Chairman of the Review Team, to delay the report to allow the Working Group to gather this data. The Working Group aim to provide a completed report by the end of December. | |

It is recommended that a special Performance Review Committee meeting be arranged to review this report in January, on a date agreed by the Chairman. | |
