Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

That the Executive Member for Education advises the Executive Member for Policy and Resources that the design project appraisal for the proposed works at South Baddesley CE (C) Primary school, at an estimated cost of up to £825,000, excluding fees, be approved.

Reason(s)

2.1

To provide permanent teaching and staff accommodation to replace temporary buildings and a new hall to enable effective delivery of the national curriculum.

2.2

This decision supports Aim 1 and 5 of the Corporate Strategy by providing improved facilities which will benefit all users of the school.

Other options considered and rejected

3.1

The need of the school for the facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost-effective way of meeting that need.
